Scotchgard fabric protection is highly recommended by our specialists at On Time Steam Cleaning. Why? Because we want that “fresh feeling” after your upholstery steam cleaning to last. In our experience, the easiest way to accomplish that feat is by providing a form of protective coating on important materials like upholstery and carpets. We all know how difficult it can be to avoid stains, especially when visitors are frequent or animals are involved. Scotchgard minimizes the damage, allowing you to clean small messes without calling our team back for another cleanup.
Remember, you should invest in professional steam cleaning every six to twelve months, depending on the traffic your home or office experiences on a regular basis. All questions should be directed to (888) 512-2055. We look forward to hearing from you and working with you soon!

What Is The Scotchgard Solution?
Briefly put, Scotchgard Furniture Protection is a formula that was accidentally discovered by Patsy Sherman and Samuel Smith almost seven decades ago. Today, 3M is responsible for producing the world-famous formula that can keep anything from your favorite backpack to your carpets, leather, hard floors, or car upholstery better guarded against future stains and spills. This means that cleaning and maintenance will become a lot smoother and less time-consuming, which is always a win.
The On-Time Steam Cleaning team relies on its own Scotchgard formula that has been specially created to keep your space a lot cleaner and fresher. Once our skilled and versatile technicians will finish applying the Scotchgard at the mill of your area rugs, for example, your entire carpet will benefit from enhanced protection in the long term. Keep in mind the deeper the product can reach into the fiber of your rugs, the better its effects will be. This is why it is important to only rely on professional Scotchgard furniture protection services and try to steer clear from DIY solutions at home or at work.
Why Do You Need Our Scotchgard Fabric Protection Services?
We know how important it is to benefit from that feeling of stepping on freshly cleaned carpets or floors or laying on your most comfortable sofa and enjoying its comfort every time. Steam cleaning works great at deep cleaning fabrics and upholstery and removing stains and spots from your favorite carpets. However, fresh feelings only usually last for a few days. Wouldn’t you like to be able to enjoy the same sensations for longer – let’s say, a few months? Now you can with the help of our advanced Scotchgard furniture protection services that will not only keep any damage from spills to a minimum but also help you clean your carpets and upholstery a lot easier.
Nonetheless, we warmly encourage you to still hire professional steam cleaning services periodically if you truly want to get deep into those fibers and eradicate all pesky dust mites, bacteria, mildew, or even moth eggs. The On-Time Steam Cleaning team recommends you to have your fabrics professionally cleaned once every six to twelve months. It depends on the foot traffic inside your home or commercial space. We offer free, zero-obligation estimates, affordable prices, and pertinent recommendations in case you are not entirely sure whether you should use steam cleaning on your carpets or not.
The Scotchgard Fabric Protection Process
Our technicians will first assess the fabrics and upholstery surfaces that you will need us to protect against further staining, prepare them and proceed to surround all the non-fabric materials from getting damaged because of an over-spraying incident. Next, our technicians will shake the Scotchgard and test it for colorfastness, then spray it by holding it upright at around 6 inches from the surface of the upholstery or carpeting. They will then let it dry between two different applications. For best results, it is recommended to reapply the protective Scotchgard at least once a year or after each cleaning session.

FAQs
What is furniture protection treatment?
Furniture protection involves applying a specialized fabric protector that creates an invisible barrier against spills, stains, dirt, and wear. It helps preserve upholstery and extend its lifespan.
How does fabric protection work?
The protector bonds to fabric fibers, repelling liquids and preventing them from soaking in. This gives you time to blot up spills before they become stains — ideal for busy Brooklyn, NYC households with kids or pets.
Is furniture protection safe for all types of upholstery?
Yes. We offer fabric protection for most upholstery types including cotton, linen, microfiber, velvet, and blends. Our Brooklyn, NYC team tests materials first to ensure safe application without altering texture or color.
How long does furniture protection last?
When properly applied, it can last up to 12–18 months depending on usage and fabric type. We recommend reapplying after every professional cleaning to maintain maximum protection.
Can I protect my furniture after cleaning?
Absolutely. Applying fabric protector immediately after steam cleaning is the best way to seal in freshness and guard against future stains. It’s a common add-on service in Brooklyn, NYC homes.
Is your furniture protection eco-friendly?
Yes. We use non-toxic, eco-safe protectors that are safe for kids, pets, and allergy-sensitive individuals — ideal for families living in Brooklyn, NYC apartments or shared spaces.
